Close Enough: Saige's Painting Set

Hey, there! Today I'm going to show you something I love doing: Making my own version of American Girl items! I have made my own version of Saige's Painting Set.(And, it's way cheaper than 48 dollars!) Here we go:

Thanks to Char's idea, I used the easel from American Girl's Doll Dining Set for an art easel. I stacked boxes to make it tall enough for Kanali. *Want to know more about Kanali and her outfit? Check out this post:Springfield Fashion Show/ Meet the AG Dolls

Here is Kanali's "picture". Drew it myself. :)

I made Kanali's "paintbrush" by coloring a part of a white Post-It note black, cutting it out, and covering it with tape. Then, I cut slits in the top of the "brush". To make the handle, I wrapped some duct tape around the brush and then wrapped duct tape around that to make the handle longer. Would you call that part of a brush a handle?

This is Kanali's "palette". I traced the design onto cardboard, then colored in the paint. Next, I cut out the palette. P.S. I am using doll hair elastics to help Kanali "hold" onto her items. I am using these because I don't have clear elastics.   I love how the background is blurry in this picture.

Next: The art set. My dad made the pouch out of duct tape (who really knows how he did it :) ). I also have the ruler and scissors from Chrissa's craft set and a mini glue from a fashion designer kit. I saw that idea on the Internet. So, thanks, to whoever put that on the Internet. :) (I'm on a roll :) )

Here are the pencils close up. The bigger colored pencils are from a restaurant, and the small ones came with Chrissa's Craft Studio.

A notebook from the old AG backpack set.

A tote that my Nana crocheted.

Thanks for reading! Let me know what you would like me to post about in the comments.     Doll Whiz
