Merry Christmas!

While I have a few minutes, I thought I would wish every one a Merry Christmas! Today I'm going up to visit family about an hour away. Are you going anywhere? What Christmas traditions do you celebrate?

Wishing you a very merry Christmas! :Doll Whiz

P.S. After Christmas, we'll be kicking off our one year anniversary here at Doll Whiz! December 31st is the big day! Then there's New Year's, but after that we should be out of holidays for a while.

It's Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas...

What's up, readers? I know it's been FOREVER (okay, maybe not that long ;p) since I've posted, but maybe today's post can help make up for it.

The dolls are SO excited for Christmas at my house! I mean, they went all out with their decorating this year. To show you what I mean, take a look at last year's Christmas setup...

... and compare it to this year's!

Big difference, right? This Christmas, there are stockings, a fireplace, the Christmas tree, AND some festive lights!

A closer look at the tastefully decorated tree. Nice job, ladies!

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care... wait a minute, those are MY socks! Someone has some explaining to do...

The dolls even got a Santa side table! (Who knew that dolls are such great interior designers?)

I decided to knock out the Christmas cards while I was at it. Apparently, red is the theme for this year!

A couple of clicks in PicMonkey, and I'm ready to send to family and friends! Technology makes everything a breeze.

On to more festivities! I was looking at Doll Diaries the other day, and I found this cool link for making your own Lego postcards! I think the dolls make great Legos, don't you?

Then, when the girls found out about Elf Yourself, they begged and begged and BEGGED me to make one staring them. I agreed, so here's the finished product!

The crew at Doll Whiz wishes you a Merry Christmas! I hope you get the chance to gather the family (and the dolls, of course) for some fun celebration! Remember the true reason for the season and have a good day! :Doll Whiz

P.S. I even changed the Doll Whiz background to look like falling snow! Can you tell that we like Christmas here?

Anne of Green Gables

Hey there, readers! Here's another doll review for you. My nana went to Prince Edward Island, and she brought me back an Anne of Green Gables doll! Here's the basics.

This is Anne in her box. Look at that sweet face!

This view of the box shows you a brief description of Anne: "Anne of Green Gables: Porcelain Doll".

A more lengthy description of the people who made Anne. The doll was designed on Prince Edward Island.

 Anne out of her box.

These pictures shows that Anne's head can turn and her arms can move. You can see the tag on her left wrist.

A closer look at the tag. It mentions a website called annesociety.org, which takes to a web page to buy Anne-related items.

Anne's bloomers and shoes. The shoes still have plastic wrap on them from the packaging.

Anne from the back. The makers of this doll really paid attention to detail!

"Finally," says Anne, "that annoying tag and those plastic wrap shoes came off!"

1908 meets 1934 as Anne finds a new friend in Kit! Anne is slightly shorter than the American Girl mini dolls.

Something has caught Anne's attention. I wonder what it is?

Anne, wait! Oh well, I guess this photo shoot is over now. Have a great day!

 Details from the scene
Doll: Anne of Green Gables Doll
Setting: Table is Chrissa's Picnic Table by American Girl.

A Photo Shoot with a Beauty

Hello, there, readers! Today I am going to show you a very beautiful doll. I believe that she is made by a brand called Unique, and I think that this company makes porcelain dolls. The back of her neck says "Unique", with "1-5000" underneath that. Has anyone heard of this? Anyways, I would be happy to introduce this doll to you. I have named her Elise, and here she is.

See! She's such a beauty! My nana bought her for me at my school's Fall Fair.  She was up for silent auction, and Nana won.

Look at that pretty face! Elise is made out of porcelain, and I'm not sure what her eyes are made of. Her lips look like they were painted on. She has eyelashes and beautiful curly hair.

The next three pictures are close-ups of the details of Elise's dress.

Here are Elise's undergarments. The shoes are painted on. And yes, this doll has a stand.

This is Elise from the back. Her dress has velcro on the back, so I guess it is removable, but I won't be taking her dress off.

What a gorgeous hat! The lace and ribbon are very pretty.

Elise talking to her friend Nellie. You can see that American Girl Dolls are taller than dolls like Elise.

That beautiful look once more! Elise is very photogenic.

I saw some porcelain Unique dolls on Ebay. If you are to buy this doll, please know that she is not for little children. She can't sit, and her arms, legs, and neck don't turn. Also, I wouldn't recommend playing with her hair so that you can keep those curls in good condition. This is more of a display doll than a play doll. But, if you take good care of her, I'm sure she'll be a great doll for photo shoots and light play.

If you have any more information on these dolls, please let me know! I want to learn more about the brand behind these beauties. Hope you enjoyed this post! See you later! :Doll Whiz

These opinions were all my own. I do not work for any doll companies in any way.

Once Upon A Time...

Bonjour, readers! Have you missed me? School started August 12 for me, so I've been busy. That's why I'm behind with my posting. Anyways, here's a post I made a few weeks ago. Thanks to Doll Diaries for your amazing inspiration.

One day, my dolls were bored, so they went to see what was on the computer.

And it was Doll Diaries, as it so often is!

Rebecca was in charge of the mouse, so she clicked on the Princess and the Pea post. The girls figured out that it was Fairytale week at Camp Doll Diaries.

"We should pretend that we are princesses too!" exclaimed Rebecca.

So the girls got to work putting together outfits and grabbing hair accessories.

The girls had a fashion show when they were finished. See if you can fill in the blanks to figure which princess each girl is. They are all Disney Princesses.

Princess ______ has gone to town to get another book. She loves to read, but she is bored with her life.

Princess ________ is also bored with her life. Who would have guessed that a rug would help her find her prince?

Wow! Princess ______ is tired of her life too! She doesn't know much about how to use a fork, or a dinglehopper, does she?

Princess _______ doesn't want to get married. She wants to keep practicing her archery.

So, who is who? I hope you had fun reading this and are inspired to play with your dolls today! Mahalo! :Doll Whiz

A Cowgirl and Her Dog

Hey, readers! I whipped up another little video yesterday called "A Cowgirl and Her Dog". It's my first movie working with the mini dolls. My recent purchase, Mini Saige, has the lead role. Enjoy! Oh, and don't worry, there's no sound.

What did you think? I think this is my most humorous doll stop motion! Saige and Caroline will be wanting me to get them a real horse! Have a great day!

Lovin' LA

Hey everyone! Kanali here to present you with my guest post! I recently took a trip to LA and Doll Whiz said that I could blog about it when we got home. Well, now we're home, so here we go!

On Friday, July 26, I was placed in a big black suitcase and was laying down in there for a long time. Quite a while later, I started feeling all of this bumping and I was moved to a standing position. Doll Whiz told me that this was the suitcase being taken to the plane. Then, I was thrown into some place Doll Whiz called the cargo hold. That was an adventure. Meanwhile Doll Whiz was having a much smoother ride up in the top of the plane. She took some pictures of the view outside the window.

Later, I was moved back into an upright position. I thought I was going to get sick if I had to do any more of this. After waiting in the stuffy black bag some more, I was put in a vertical position for a while. Apparently Doll Whiz went to see a theater with famous people's hand prints and a sidewalk of stars while I suffered from claustrophobia. Sheesh. Here are two of her pictures.

Eventually I did come out of that bag. When I finally saw the light, we were in a parking garage. After walking for a little while, we reached the familiar red and white sign of American Girl. I was so excited! Here, I took a picture with Saige.

I found my twin wearing the science kit apron and glasses. Lucky!

Here's the Girl of the Year line up.

I was so happy when Doll Whiz bought me Saige's Sweater Outfit! Unfortunately, a string of the sweater was pulled so I didn't get to wear it. Doll Whiz told me that I had to buckle up, so here is a picture.

When we reached the hotel that night, I was so exhausted that I fell asleep as soon as I sat on Doll Whiz's bed!

The next day we got in the car again for an exploration road trip. Once again, I had to buckle up.

Turns out that we were going to the beach! But apparently, I was not going to get all sandy, so they LEFT ME in the car! :( Doll Whiz did take a picture for me, though.

To make up for missing the beach, Doll Whiz let me look out the window to the ocean. It went on forever.

The rest of the trip, I slept on the living room table or just lay there thinking about how much fun Doll Whiz and her family were having.

One day, I decided to explore. I went into the bedroom and found a bag from Disneyland.

Inside that bag was another bag!

Finally I reached the souvenir inside. It was a pin. I thought that humans bought autograph books and T-shirts for souvenirs instead of plain old pins.

The pin had some tower on it with these weird people standing in front of it. At the top, it said "Tower of Terror." That sounded creepy.

I decided to get back in my spot before I got caught, although I was pretty sure that I wouldn't be spotted.

Almost there! I did get a nice view from the top of the table.

I had to resume my napping position. That was boring.

A few days later, I was packed away once more and had to endure the dark, bumpy ride again. It felt good when we made it back home! As soon as I walked in the bedroom door, the girls rushed over and bombarded me with questions about LA. I told them that I was going to do a blog post that might answer some of their questions.

Now, I'm back home, having fun with the girls. I hope you enjoyed this guest post! I'm sure Doll Whiz will let me and the other dolls do another post soon... until then, happy reading! See you lata! Kanali

P.S. Curious about Samantha's outfit? It's part of a project that Doll Whiz says she may never finish... sigh. Just another day in the doll house... ;)
