Soaring Springs Gymnastics Tryouts

Hello, everyone! Here is a doll photo story that I made a while back. I hope you enjoy! Welcome to Soaring Springs Gymnastics!

Meet Nellie O’Malley and Kanali Brooks. They go to Soaring Springs Gymnastics. They are in Level 3, the Fireworks, currently. Today, they are trying out to be on the level 4 team, the Shooting Stars. Only two girls from each of the level 3 classes (there are 4 level 3 classes) will get to join the team. (There are eight girls on each team.)

When the girls arrive at the tournament, they check in. They each have cards to check in with.

Before the girls perform, they do their stretches. They are currently doing the splits.

Kanali has just finished a back flip on the beam and is doing the gymnast salute.

Nellie is going around the bar with speed.

Kanali does her handstand bridge kick-over on floor.

Nellie does a handstand on the vault and lands flat onto the mat stack.

These are today’s judges:  Samantha Parkington, Blake Anthony, and Consuelo Marcus.

Here are their scores: Nellie got a 9.5 on beam, a 9 on bar, a 9 on floor and a 9.5 on vault. Kanali got a 9.5 on beam, an 8.5 on bar, a 9.5 on floor, and a 9.5 on vault. Both girls had a total of 37.

Coach Mollie calls out the girls… 8th…
7th… 6th… 5th… 4th… 3rd place goes to Ginger Rosario (far right)…  and Nellie and Kanali tie for 1st! Here they are on the podium.

A closer look at the ribbon. Reads 1st place gymnast.

The girls take a picture with Coach Mollie before going out to celebrate.  Nellie and Kanali are so
excited!

So, I hope you enjoyed this gymnastics photo story! Au revoir! :Doll Whiz

Kanali's 11th Birthday Party

Hey readers! Don't you think that doll birthday parties are fun to do? I do! Today, we're going to celebrate Kanali's 11th birthday!

Now, if I made Kanali's birthday party based on when I got her, she would be turning 2 or 3 and her birthday would be in January. But, I've decided to make Kanali's official birthday on April 23. Sound good?

Anyways, let's get started! My cousin recently had a birthday party at a place called Jump Street. So here is Kanali, having her party at Bounce Ville.

Here are all the girls, bouncing on some trampolines. Coach Mollie is supervising.

Kanali and Nellie are having fun jumping high on the little trampoline.

Rebecca has done a bridge on the long trampoline.

Samantha is watching Rebecca do her tricks.

Now Nellie and Kanali are playing crack the egg. You can do it, Nellie!

"Girls, time for lunch and presents!" says Coach Mollie.

Kanali gets on her birthday crown and the girls start eating.

Looks like the girls are eating spaghetti, berries, and red punch. Eat up!

The girls have cleared their plates. Time to make a wish!

The girls have some yummy cupcakes to eat!

Now it's time for Kanali to open presents! Let's see what her first one is. Oh, it's from Nellie.

Looks like Kanali got two books, Caroline's Adventures and Dazzling Desserts.

Next present! This one looks pretty. Samantha got Kanali this one.

It's a gift card to American Girl!

This next one is pretty big! It's from Rebecca.

Oh, wow! It's a horse for Kanali's American Girl doll!

This next one is from Mom and Dad. It's huge!

Oh, cool! Can you see what it is?

It's Caroline and her meet book!

Kanali got a lot of presents!

Well, the girls are a bit sore now, but they had a great time. Now, Kanali has some thank-you cards to write.

I hope you enjoyed this photo story and celebrate your dolls' birthdays too. Have a great week! :Doll Whiz

Doll Star

Hellooo, readers! How many of you have the book "Doll Star" by American Girl? I do! I bought the book with my own money. I haven't made much from it yet, but I plan to do cool things with the book. (Maybe make a movie for you guys; if you have any ideas, please comment below.) Let's get rolling!

Here is the cover of the book.

Here is the inside, where all the good stuff is!

This is the doll sized book that comes with the set. As you can see, it is called Dazzling Desserts. Even though it is really tiny, you can actually read the words in the book and try to make the items (I haven't).

This is the doll sized clapboard. I think it is really cool, don't you? You write on the board with chalk to fill it in.

The set also comes with a reporter's notebook. The pages inside are blank, but you can still write notes in it.

This is the sheet that American Girl puts in front of the items so that you can glance at what they are. You can see that it comes with the stuff to make a guitar, a megaphone, a make-up box, and much more. It comes with signs and cameras as you can see below.

The video below shows a better look at the sheet pictured above. (You punch out the red and purple glittery paper to make an electric guitar.)

This is pretty much the only item that I have made from this book so far. It is the electric guitar. The strap is made from loops from a potholder craft set.

Over all, I would recommend this book. It has lots of great ideas for playing rock star or country singer or author or chef or even opera singer with your doll. Sometime this summer I will probably make more items out of this kit and share it with you.

Have a great week! I am off to a birthday party this afternoon, so I am sure I will have lots of fun. Keep on playing with your dolls! :Doll Whiz

P.S. I do not work with American Girl in any way, and I am not advertising for them.
