A New Doll in the Dollhouse...

Readers, today I have a special surprise for you! I am very proud to present the newest girl in the Doll Whiz family! Any guesses on who she is?

Meet Belle, an Our Generation doll! I picked her up with my Target gift card.

"Help! I'm trapped in this box!" Belle calls out.

"Ah, that's better," says Belle. I love Belle's fashionista outfit, complete with the cute little dog purse!

As soon as you open the box, you find this little paper about doll hair care.

Onto the doll! Belle comes with a dog-patterned shirt, hot pink pants, pink translucent sandals, sunglasses, and a purse. A very good value if you ask me.

I am in love with this purse! Very detailed and very cute.

A closer look at the shirt. It seems like Belle is a dog lover!

The pants are made of a very sturdy material and close with Velcro in the back.

The shoes are plastic and slip on the doll. The buckle is an accent. I like how the doll can stand very easily in them.

The sunglasses are also cute and fit the doll well. Great accessories in this set!

Let's see those eyes! Belle's eyes close when you lay her down, like the American Girl dolls.

Belle comes with these neat little braids in her hair. I still haven't taken them out since I got her!

A little photo fun with Belle. I think she's pretty photogenic!

One last photo! I actually didn't realize this until after I bought her, but Belle's a lot like GOTY Isabelle. The hair, the eye color, the name... if I don't get Isabelle, I have a pretty good look-alike!

That wraps up this review! I think that Belle is going to be a great new addition to the doll house and would be great in your doll family too! Don't worry, you'll be seeing more of Belle in the near future. Pick her up at Target if she's in stock! Bye for now! :Doll Whiz

Anne of Green Gables

Hey there, readers! Here's another doll review for you. My nana went to Prince Edward Island, and she brought me back an Anne of Green Gables doll! Here's the basics.

This is Anne in her box. Look at that sweet face!

This view of the box shows you a brief description of Anne: "Anne of Green Gables: Porcelain Doll".

A more lengthy description of the people who made Anne. The doll was designed on Prince Edward Island.

 Anne out of her box.

These pictures shows that Anne's head can turn and her arms can move. You can see the tag on her left wrist.

A closer look at the tag. It mentions a website called annesociety.org, which takes to a web page to buy Anne-related items.

Anne's bloomers and shoes. The shoes still have plastic wrap on them from the packaging.

Anne from the back. The makers of this doll really paid attention to detail!

"Finally," says Anne, "that annoying tag and those plastic wrap shoes came off!"

1908 meets 1934 as Anne finds a new friend in Kit! Anne is slightly shorter than the American Girl mini dolls.

Something has caught Anne's attention. I wonder what it is?

Anne, wait! Oh well, I guess this photo shoot is over now. Have a great day!

 Details from the scene
Doll: Anne of Green Gables Doll
Setting: Table is Chrissa's Picnic Table by American Girl.

A Photo Shoot with a Beauty

Hello, there, readers! Today I am going to show you a very beautiful doll. I believe that she is made by a brand called Unique, and I think that this company makes porcelain dolls. The back of her neck says "Unique", with "1-5000" underneath that. Has anyone heard of this? Anyways, I would be happy to introduce this doll to you. I have named her Elise, and here she is.

See! She's such a beauty! My nana bought her for me at my school's Fall Fair.  She was up for silent auction, and Nana won.

Look at that pretty face! Elise is made out of porcelain, and I'm not sure what her eyes are made of. Her lips look like they were painted on. She has eyelashes and beautiful curly hair.

The next three pictures are close-ups of the details of Elise's dress.

Here are Elise's undergarments. The shoes are painted on. And yes, this doll has a stand.

This is Elise from the back. Her dress has velcro on the back, so I guess it is removable, but I won't be taking her dress off.

What a gorgeous hat! The lace and ribbon are very pretty.

Elise talking to her friend Nellie. You can see that American Girl Dolls are taller than dolls like Elise.

That beautiful look once more! Elise is very photogenic.

I saw some porcelain Unique dolls on Ebay. If you are to buy this doll, please know that she is not for little children. She can't sit, and her arms, legs, and neck don't turn. Also, I wouldn't recommend playing with her hair so that you can keep those curls in good condition. This is more of a display doll than a play doll. But, if you take good care of her, I'm sure she'll be a great doll for photo shoots and light play.

If you have any more information on these dolls, please let me know! I want to learn more about the brand behind these beauties. Hope you enjoyed this post! See you later! :Doll Whiz

These opinions were all my own. I do not work for any doll companies in any way.

Doll Boutique: Behind the Scenes

Hey, readers! Have you read my Petite Boutique post? If you haven't, here is the link: http://dollwhiz.blogspot.com/2013/07/petite-boutique.html. If you have, here is a behind the scenes look at how it was all put together!

Most of the decorations in this photo story are from the American Girl book Doll Boutique. When I say "from the set", I mean that it is from Doll Boutique.

I mainly got this set for all of the decorations that it comes with. And that's a good reason to get the set, because you can see how many decorations it comes with!

Grand opening sign from the set. It is double sided to fit two different decorating styles. I personally went with the less bold style because I thought it was prettier.

The sign for the dressing room.

Mini American Girl shopping bags- how cute! I actually didn't use this in the photo story.

Sign for the Petite Boutique. See, this style is really pretty!

The open and closed sign which is essential for any store. It is has "open" on one side and "closed" on the other, so you have to use the fancier, prettier style for the sign anyway (the others have bold versions of the different signs on the back.)

One of the posters for the shop. It is actually a black and white photo from the American Girl magazine.

Gift cards from the set. My dad made the stand out of paper.

A little receipt pad that I just used for display in the photo story. The pencil is from Chrissa's Craft Studio.

This is an awesome computer that comes with the set. It is made of study material, and it has a very detailed keyboard. But you have to put it together.

In the drawer of the front desk (which is from Chrissa's Craft Studio), I put some dollar bills for change and some of the business cards included in the set.

One of the doll magazines you can make from the set. Just glue the designed paper to the cardboard included for your magazine. The kit has enough for 4 magazines. However, if you want the front to look like this, there will be a little space that is uncovered in the back because they did not make the paper long enough to cover the whole cardboard piece.

The blue cardboard piece in the picture above is actually included in the set so that you can make a table; you just need to put it on top of something like a cup. I put mine on top of a candle holder.

The dressing room! I made it using boxes. I used more boxes to hold up a blanket for a curtain. (Nobody actually went in there. :D )

This comfy chair is a mini Pillow Pet.

The kit gives you this purple cardboard piece to make a dress rack. You are supposed to mount the rack to your tri-fold using glue, but I used ribbon and a lot of tape to hold up mine. Then I put a little piece of tape behind the rack so it would stay in place. Next, I slid a skewer in the holes and hung up some dresses. Voila!

I wasn't kidding when I said I used a lot of tape! My dad did all of this taping on the back for me. He even used a few skewers. This is on the back of my homemade tri-fold.

And, I used American Girl boxes for the displays.

So, I hope you enjoyed this behind the scenes look at the Doll Boutique post! If you want me to give you some more behind the scenes information on any post, just let me know in the comments. じゃあ、また!(That's "See you later!" in Japanese!) :Doll Whiz

P.S. I do not work with American Girl in any way, and all opinions are my own.
